WHITSAND BAY ANGLING SURVEY 2005
Dear Angler
Thank you for taking your time to fill in this
questionnaire, it should not take more than 10 minutes. I am
studying for a Masters in Sustainable Environmental Management at
Plymouth University, and am researching the socio-economic and
environmental contribution anglers make to Whitsand Bay and
surrounding communities.
My research is a
follow up two major reports published within the last two years,
DEFRA produced a report in March 2004 showing the economic
contribution of sea angling nationally, this report showed that
angling made a considerable contribution to the economy of
approximately £538m per year. More recently a survey has been
released by Invest in Fish focussing on the regional
contribution of anglers in the South West, of which they found a
contribution from resident anglers is £110m and visiting anglers
£55m.
So far (apart from integrated case studies) there
have been no local studies performed; my research is focused locally
within the community of Whitsand Bay. This research is my final
objective for my dissertation and I would be grateful if you could
assist in my endeavours.
If there are any interested parties who would like to read the
results from this survey, I would be happy to both post this on the
Whitsand Bay website and sent pdf files to those who request it, if
so then please leave me your contact details at the bottom of the
questionnaire.
With thanks
